Manual tongs are tools for lifting and unloading various pipe strings and tools during drilling and workover operations. By changing the tongs head and steps, the tongs can meet the needs of lifting and unloading of pipes of different sizes. The products shall be designed and manufactured according to the requirements of API Spec 7K.

Installation:

The manual tongs are suspended on the derrick with wire ropes. In order to make the tongs easy to adjust in height during use, the wire ropes are passed through the small pulleys on the derrick and installed on the specially designed tongs balance cylinder on the derrick. The counterweight is basically the same as the weight of the tongs.

The tongs tail rope is made of wire ropes, one end of which is installed on the tongs tail pin and the other end is installed on the tongs tail column specially set on the drilling platform.

Operation:

When tightening, use the inner tong (away from the driller's end) to tong the female joint of the drill string and fix it, while the outer tong tongs the male connector above. The tail end of the outer tong is connected to the cathead rope, and the drill string joint is tightened with the help of the force of the cathead. thread.

If used for shackles, just change the inner and outer tongs up and down.
